New environmentally conscious company headquarters - wall heating for modular construction

Blattfisch, a company active in the field of aquatic ecology, has found a new home near Wels. The modular office building was constructed with the environment in mind. With Variotherm and its sustainable wall heating and cooling systems, Blattfisch has found exactly the right partner.

At the Upper Austrian company Blattfisch, everything revolves around water: from aquatic ecology and fishing to nature and species conservation projects. Now the environmentally conscious company also has water in its walls - albeit safely packaged in pipes through which heated water flows in winter and cooled water in summer, thus ensuring the optimum room temperature at any time of year.

For Clemens Gumpinger, Managing Director of Blattfisch, it was clear that the new building should not only be constructed according to environmentally conscious standards, but also employee-friendly ones. The perfect indoor climate plays an important role in this. Together with installer Andreas Gahleitner, Gumpinger therefore opted for Variotherm products:

“Due to the modular construction method, in which all pipes are laid in the ceiling and floor, there was only room for infrastructure in the walls. Thank goodness our installer drew our attention to the Variotherm wall heating and wall cooling system. We are super happy with it and it works perfectly! ”

Divided into two floors, the new company headquarters not only houses bright offices, but also laboratories and storage rooms. Originally, the architect had planned to use wall heating instead of today's pleasant cooling systems. For Gumpinger, this was unimaginable - for the environment and his employees:

“Imagine air conditioning units in every room! They're just noisy and produce dry air. Fortunately, we don't have that thanks to wall cooling. That's a huge advantage!

Gumpinger and his employees report an absolutely pleasant working atmosphere. Gumpinger is also satisfied with the wall heating and cooling from an ecological point of view.

“We use an air heat pump to heat and cool the walls and produce our own electricity using a photovoltaic system. The green façade, which we water with rainwater, also provides additional cooling.”

For Gumpinger, it was clear that he wanted to integrate a heating and cooling system that would not burden the body. In other words, an environmentally conscious new building that is absolutely impressive.
