Am Platz - a new center for Purgstall

In Purgstall an der Erlauf, architect Walter Brandhofer has realized the “Am Platz” project. Today, the building complex not only houses an architect's office and guest rooms, but also a medical and therapy center. Thanks to Variotherm's sophisticated technology, everyone who goes in and out of “Am Platz” feels comfortable. 
 
The revitalization of town centers is a particular concern of Walter Brandhofer. As part of an urban renewal project, the architect himself has now implemented a revitalization project in his home town of Purgstall - with the aim of bringing new uses with high customer frequency to the town center.  
 
Today, “Am Platz” is home to Brandhofer's architectural office, a hairdressing salon, guest rooms, a co-working space and event room as well as a medical and therapy center. The challenge of renovating “Am Platz”: How can everyone - employees, customers and patients - feel equally comfortable? 
 
“Heat is not the only key factor for the indoor climate in winter. Today, cooling is even more important! Thanks to excellent advice from Bruckner, we installed the heating and cooling ceiling with acoustic function from Variotherm. That was a very good decision!” It goes without saying that Brandhofer, as an architect, pays particular attention to the quality of the products used in his project. With the surface heating and cooling systems from Variotherm, “Am Platz” is now equipped with ecological, cost- and energy-efficient heating and cooling. 
 
“We now have pleasant temperatures all year round - there are no unpleasant draughts anywhere. The working atmosphere is excellent. This is particularly important for the therapy practice because patients should feel comfortable during their treatments despite it being 30 degrees outside.” 
 
The revitalization of the town center in Purgstall is now considered a success. Not least because the number of jobs has risen from 10 to 120. Brandhofer is convinced that this is also due to the fact that everyone feels comfortable in the premises. The ceiling heating and cooling with acoustic function plays a key role in this:  
 
“There is nothing more unpleasant than when there is reverberation in offices or practice rooms. The acoustic ceiling from Variotherm regulates this and also looks great! We use our own groundwater for the surface cooling system. What could be better than drawing energy from a depth of 15 meters and then distributing it throughout the house? This overall package is simply pleasant all round!”
